june snail mail club
Hello helloooo! Welcome to the ultra exclusive, most ephemeral part of my website. Here you will have access to a playlist I made just for you, a better look at the angelfish water recipe, and you can view and book my mini flash designs for the month of June. But all of this is only here on this earthly realm throughout the month of June (I did say it was ephemeral),
Now about those flash tattoos! My mini flash designs are all about 3-4” (roughly palm size), can be done in color or B&G, arms and legs only (excluding hands, feet, elbows, and knee caps). They’ll be tattooed exactly as seen, no changes other than flipping, and are not to be used as a coverup. B&G (with or without white highlights) is $185, full color is $215, and must be paid in full at time of booking the appointment. To book your appointment, fill out a form at the bottom of the page and I’ll get back to you within a few days. The flash is repeatable, but my availability is limited, so act swiftly to claim a spot! Appointments will be booked into June and July.
salty sea air
Picture it: the smell of briny ocean mist whipped into the air by a cool gust of coastal wind on a hot, humid day. It’s Saturday, late morning, and you’re walking along a sandy path down to a secluded section of a quiet beach with your favorite drink in your hand. Distant squawking of boisterous seagulls can faintly be heard over the foamy waves crashing into the shoreline.
Okay, so maybe you don’t live even remotely close to any kind of body of water (the closest I have is a mucky, algae-filled pond behind my house), but we can still pretend! When it’s windy, cloudy, and warm outside, I love to take a walk outside and imagine I’m in a beach town. Sometimes we have to create a little whimsy to make an average day feel like something more fun and out of the ordinary. Try throwing on your headphones, turn on the salty sea air playlist, take a stroll outside, and pretend you’re in a beach town. Just beyond the horizon of trees or houses or whatever you see in front of you is the ocean, hiding from view.
angelfish water recipe
ingredients
strawberry lychee syrup
1 cup water
½ cup sugar
¾ cup strawberries, chopped
¾ cup canned lychee, chopped
angelfish water, yields ~3 cups
1 can La Croix pure
1 cup coconut water
juice of 1 small lime, ~2 tablespoons
1/3 cup strawberry lychee syrup
directions
To make strawberry lychee syrup, toss ingredients into a medium sauce pan on medium-high heat. Stir until sugar dissolves, then bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. Strain the liquid through a wire mesh strainer into a jar. Allow liquid to cool completely; it will thicken as it cools. Store jar in fridge with air tight lid for up to 2-3 weeks.
Hint: save the strawberry/lychee bits that were strained out to add on top of other food, like smoothies, oatmeal, ice cream, or spread it like jam on toast!
To make angelfish water, combine La Croix pure, coconut water, lime juice, and lychee syrup in a small pitcher and stir. If you want your water a little sweeter, add more syrup. Pour mixture over ice to serve. Optional: garnish with a lime slice or wedge, lychee, and/or a sliced strawberry.
