Let’s talk about
Custom Tattoos
Got a sick ass tattoo idea? Hell yea! I can’t wait to hear about it. Before you tell me all the juicy details, let’s go over a few pointers that will help you along your application form-filling journey.
What am I looking for in a custom tattoo when going through applications?
Keep your tattoo description concise. Only include necessary information, and avoid lengthy back stories/emotional reasons behind wanting the tattoo. Reading through too much info like that can be very time consuming and emotionally draining for me. I usually pass on concepts involving too many different elements or requirements, as it does not allow me enough creative freedom.
Know the details. Give me precise information on size and placement. For example, "6 inches tall, 3 inches wide on the back of my left calf" is a lot more helpful than "hand size on my leg." So grab a ruler or tape measure and tell me the exact size in inches!
"Artistic freedom." Artistic or creative freedom means you give me the liberty to design your tattoo in a way that I feel makes it the best piece possible (within your given guidelines of course). But don't say it if you don't mean it! If you have your perfect tattoo planned in your head and want it done exactly as you pictured, please let me know that.
Budget. I charge $300/hour for the first hour, $225 for each subsequent hour, beginning at the scheduled time of your appointment and ending when we are finished working. A $200 deposit is required within 24 hours if you are selected to book an appointment. I do not accept monetary tips, so you do not need to worry about factoring that into your budget. Deciding ahead of time how much you're comfortable spending on your tattoo will be helpful for both of us. Budget does not affect your chances of receiving an appointment unless it is unreasonably low for what you'd like done, like wanting a full sleeve in one hour. I work fast, but I'm not a magician (yet).
Double check your answers. Once you've filled out your application form, go back through and make sure you have filled it out correctly. If I can't make sense of any of your answers due to incoherent or missing information, your application will not receive consideration.
Application is submitted. Now what? If your application is accepted (yay!), I will send you an email with further booking instructions. It usually takes me about 7-10 days to get through applications and send out emails. If I feel I need to pass on your project, I will send you an email letting you know. Please don’t take this personally, it might just mean I am not the right artist for your project.
